Owners with High Mileage XC90's
I would be keen to know of experiences of owners with high mileage XC90's and what if anything has gone wrong?

What is High Milage by your standard?
Mine XC90 D5 from 2004 has now gone 239000 km and is going like a clockwork. And I remember to change the auto gearbox oil every 50.000 km. Then it should hold. |
my 03 xc90 D5 has done 130k

MY05 = 120,000 (is that high?)

Used purchase 107,000 miles on clock
Hi all,
Sorry same question from me. My first post, as I am thinking of buying my first XC90, it'll be a used one aroud a 53 or 54 plate with under 110,000 on the clock. what do you think? I want a deisel with Satnav and DVD for the kids. How reliable is the engine, I average 10k a year, will a good one last to 200,000? Thanks Nigel |

Otherwise it's pretty much all service items anyway - Cam Belt is 96k.... I certainly wouldn't have an issue with one this age or mileage - mine is 132k and had all of the above points sorted. Plenty of advice on here about routine (or not so routine bits) service bits quite within the capability of the home mechanic. General approach - if it looks well looked after and there's bills to match - go for it. Cheers Ian. |
My MY2005 XC90 D5 has done 106,000 miles. That's only 5000 since I bought it in April 2010, but the car is as tight as one with 60k less miles.
Mind you, my ageing V40 has 165,000 miles and still runs really well, so I no longer see 100,000 miles as some big milestone. |
Not wanting to steal the thread, especially as I'm only on 82k, but can those that answered also confirm if they are on the original splined sleeve and still have AWD.

Mine is nearly 84k and still have the original one ... I was trying to find out with Volvo if that has been replaced, but ... it either wasn't, or was but their system don't show that ;)
