empty fuel line
hi,i changed the fuel filter on a volvo v50 2.0 diesel 2007 and now the car wont start:shocked:i cleaned the base of the container out but never had any diesel to top it up i unclipped the back fuel pipe first then the one on the left and then the right one.the pipe i am showing in the pictures was almost full when re-clipping them back on.after trying to start the car i looked at the pipe and it is empty.any suggestions before i have to get it recovered and if so at what cost pictures have failed to upload

Recovery person will be able to get it started if they have one of those squeezy black rubber "priming bulbs".
essentially you need to refill the filter with diesel by using the handprimer to suck the fuel from the tank and fill up the filter. So connect the priming bulb to the outlet of the filter that goes into the engine (pipe you disconnect is the one that goes underneath the intake manifold, if its a 2.0d). Squeeze priming bulb multiple times and the filter will fill up eventually. You can also connect it to the 'return' pipe (it has a green connector), get someone to crank, and keep squeezing the bulb. Disconnect once the engine starts. |
hi thanks for the quick reply T5R92011 could i buy one of these black rubber primer bulbs and do this myself i think i will need some pictures to get your drift thanks
