Hi Andreas

We have been in contact discussing this car - grateful for your information so far and look forward to hearing more.

Just posting here, really, to confirm I am genuine!

Good luck DCW, save me from buying another 440! But if it doesn't suit, I shall be in contact!

Ha - perhaps York can be a good half-way point between London & Bute!

bargain. That Ulez charge is beginning to hurt people.

I assume I'm reading this incorrectly ?

£150 for a 'well running' 38,000 mile car with a years MOT ?

That's nearly the cost of a tank of fuel nowadays or a months payment on a 2nd hand supermini ?

Surely it's worth more than that even at the scrappies ?

It does seem like a total bargain ! Ulez is hitting old cars hard though.

Despite all the silly prices dealers are trying to rip people off with there are a lot of bargain old Volvo's for sale in London

The car was, indeed, a bargain. Collected Saturday afternoon and had a faultless drive home - for a car that has spent its life around London it must have been a real shock to the system to do a 250 mile trip mostly on the M1 at 70+mph!! Still, she took it all in her stride.

I am now busy swapping out the best bits from my "old" 440, which is nearing the end of her time with me (there is a possible new owner in the wings, otherwise in all likelihood the scrapyard beckons).

Once I've completed this I'll start a "showroom" thread about the car - who has been named (given her plate reads PLM) Philomena...

Thanks once again to Andreas and Lynn

Well done, I can't wait to see pics of this one! I really shouldn't say, but if you do get tired of it in time/sale of your other one falls through, let me know as I may be able to facilitate.

(I am making these comments safely in the knowledge that my partner and family obviously don't use this forum!)
