Brake shoe fitting urgent advice needed!!!😣

Hi folks, I'm trying to fit my shoes and I cannot fit the larger, left spring that ties them together at the expander 😢

I used this guide:

The method she uses is what helped me get it all back together, still a massive PITA though!!

You beat me to it! I was just going to post the same link.

Thanks chaps, it's the spring, it's too tight, looks the right spring in comparison but cause its new and I have a bad back etc it's too tight for me to pull it open, so I have resorted to the spring that came off and it all pulled together, thanks again, only took me 3 hours to do 1 side :o

I also had to re-use the old spring as the new spring was too tight.

They are tight, they are meant to be, I used pair of long nose thin grips to clamp onto them and pull them down, also helps to have it up on a ramp because you can pull down with all your weight, on the deck you almost need to stand and lean down on the spring to stretch it but it is possible.

I managed to use the new on the other side, all done, only took 5 hours :/
would have been a bit quicker had i not forgotten to put on the spring clip on the 1st side

I think i prob need some new long-nosed, mine kept losing grip and slipping off, that was the main issue...

Thanks again folks, much appreciated
