960 Estate 2.5l 24v for sale - spares or repair

Advertised here on behalf of my mother is her P reg (Sept 1996) Blackberry Pearl 960 estate.

2.5 litre 24v engine which was replaced last year with a newer one.

Auto box a bit iffy but drivable.

Cream/beige-ish leather interior in ok condition except the drivers seat which is ripped,

Dog guard and snow trays (beige)

No MOT, taxed till August 09

Mercurius alloys (factory fitted)

Some parking dings, one indicator lens and drivers door trim missing (trim is available just haven't got round to reattaching it yet!)

Must be worth something to someone even if it's just to tear it apart and use the spares especially engine and alloys.

Sensible offers invited.

I have an auto box to fit this if anyone wants to put it back on the road.

Why do people post 'for sale' ads then forget to state how much they want?

If the car's got no mot it's going to be worth £100 - £200 tops.

If the seller thinks it's more than that then surely he should reinforce this by putting it through it's Mot, even if that's to show how little is wrong with it.

A quick look on autotrader or ebay will show what I'm saying is fair.

So, come on seller, how much are you asking for the car?

I would be interested, if the price was fair.

Charles

It is the poster's mother selling the car so she may not know what price is wanted. I take your meaning but any car I would view without MOT the stated price is irrelavant. I buy with my eyes, and offer accordingly. Had the interior been sound I may have looked myself but with a ripped drivers seat I can't be bothered.

Location and photos will help the sale.

I didn't put the price on as 1. it was 2 in the morning and I was tired after a 150 mile round trip, and 2. my mum doesn't really know how much she wants.

I would say around the £200 mark but she is willing to consider offers.

A bit more info about the car:

The car has done 194,000 miles. The new engine replaced last year had done 110,000 miles when it was put in and has done 8000 miles since. The handbrake doesn't work as the shoes are worn but she has new shoes.

Sorry, forgot that bit.

The car is located in Rhyl, North Wales.

RHYL, ITS BRILL!

I may be interested in this. Possibly, maybe. I may have to talk the wife round. If you still have it in a few weeks let me know.

Rear main seal was replaced at time of engine install too.
Auto box fault feels like 2nd is missing works fine other wise. Could just been that the plugs on the side of the box got soaked in masses of hot oil the engine was blowing out before i replaced it. Could be it needs a good fluid flush.
She's very open to offers as it's just taking up space on her drive now and he audi a4 in parked on the street

This is still available if anyone's interested.
