ation from other display elements

Seen no mention of restoring the USB Data!!!!
Guess they dont think its that important!
This update looks to be more pointed towards the "recharge" models, But
we wait with baited breath!!!

Noticed that re the USB. I had an email from Volvo customer relations a couple of days ago after I requested a further update from my original enquiry a month ago on the USB situation. Apparently the product team are looking into it and waiting for an answer from the Head. I will be updated they said. Anyways as I said before we will have to wait and see. I know others have mentioned still no Apple CarPlay but perhaps these two function will coincide in the end. They told me late in the second quarter.

Looking forward to installing 2.1 when it becomes available in my car, tends to take 4 or 5 days after the announcement before my car shows it as an install. Seems the OTA updates are coming quite regularly now.

AudioWagon

2022-05-17: Polestar has announced on Facebook that they did not fix the USB function in update P2.1 yet:

Our goal was to be able to reintroduce this [USB] functionality in P2.1. Unfortunately, this has been delayed. The functionality will be reintroduced in an upcoming software update. We’re sorry for the inconvenience in the interim.

😥 So let’s wait for P2.2.

Is there any info that this fixes the constant Bluetooth dropouts? My iPhone 12 Pro keeps disconnecting and it seems to be since the update to v2. I've reset everything but it still happens.

Mine too and I have the same phone as you. I thought it was the iOS update but perhaps not…

Dashboard changes

The XC40 forum has a thread which covers more detail about the dashboard layout changes. In particular post no 84 shows a “before” and “after” picture, so you can get an idea of what you’ll get when you install v2.1:

OMG, the new layout is ugly and annoying (especially map edges and battery level meter):sad-smiley-047:. New layout looks very cheep. I prefer the old one. Please Volvo change it back.

I completely agree. I'd love the ability to change the appearance of the display, to add dials for example, but actually making it uglier was not something i expected to happen.

MG14 May 23rd, 2022 19:54

Is it really that different? A bit smaller and a few other changes, I guess that’s it. Hardly worth whining about.
Then again, it is a Volvo forum and that seems to be the norm.

Volvo USA have stated the XC60 B5 variants are excluded from the 2.1 OTA update. Does that apply in the UK too?

Could be the case, as the car notified me yesterday that an update was available and it began to download.

Went back out to the car a few hours later to set the install going and there was absolutely nothing about an update being ready to be installed – weird. Checked if any updates were available and the car said no and that v2.0 is the latest.

Maybe during the download, the car model is checked and it was identified that it is a B5 and the process was then aborted.

Hi All, Well got my car back from the dealers today, yes its been in again! this time to have a new IHT screen installed, while it was in it was installed with 2.1, Yes i have a XC60 R-Design Pro B5 (P) AWD, the only difference i can spot in the drivers display are they have changed the dials and Fuel Displays, from a linergraph to what can be best discribed as little white tick tac's! Guess we have to wait for 2.2 for the Data USB option.

davetcan May 26th, 2022 15:48

Just updated my T8. Took less than 20 minutes. At first glance it doesn't look as bad as I thought but I'll see after I've lived with it for a while.

Stu22 May 26th, 2022 16:20

Our 2022 B5P has just downloaded v2.1, I've set the update in motion - see what happens....

Fibrous May 26th, 2022 16:48

Can confirm 2.1 installed over the air in the XC60 B5 so I guess that announcement in the USA only applies there.

Really like the new display, makes total sense to me, like the layout and clarity.
Thumbs up from me !

Handyandy2 May 26th, 2022 17:46

My B4D has updated today. Also like the new display.

Stu22 May 26th, 2022 19:33

Just went and checked ours, all good. I also quite like the new layout.

My22xc60 May 26th, 2022 21:03

Same here, all updated without any issues.

Deryck Jun 5th, 2022 10:54

Agree and I actually quite like it

I updated my V90 to 2.1 over the weekend and I have to admit that the driver display graphics and functionality aren't that bad. :speechless-smiley-4 Indications of fuel level and battery look a bit cheap, but they are more readable. The map is smaller, but the mentioned edges are not so disturbing and the map I would say is more readable. I would even say that now with the plug-in hybrid (in my case T6) the display of the use of the electric drive or internal combustion engine is somewhat similar to what is on the Sensus. For me, it's more fun (than just switching between the drop symbol and the battery symbol) and also moving forward a bit.

I agree with you except the final bit about drop and battery symbol, all I see is the drop symbol which moves higher or lower, the battery symbol has disappeared so I don't know when I have petrol or electric traction
