The removal of Park Assist seems to be due to some piece of EU regulations. Merc are removing it to,although in their case its being disabled so might come back in the future.

In all honesty though, unless you are terrible driver, it's a pointless gimmick.

Thanks for this info, this makes me feel a lot better about not feeling ripped off as at least Volvo told us that it will not be on the car.

It does leave the question as to whether or not it will be a simply software update to enable this feature when our regulations on this matter change with those in the EU.

If all the sensors and radars are in place to support it, then an update to the software should be all it takes to enable the feature in the future.

Fingers crossed, as I like that feature, even though I am more than capable of doing it manually.

If that gives me plenty of time to go over the car properly in the dealer before driving it away I’m more than fine with it! Last time a combination of pressure due to the sales chap only working half a day and my desire to get behind the wheel meant I rushed it and found a couple of things when I got home that I wasn’t happy with. All sorted in the end but it would have been better to flag it at the time. After 3 years of driving one I also don’t want someone telling me how to program the sat Nav…

You're absolutely right about waiting! I think mine will end up being the same as yours, the 2nd or 3rd week, maybe even the 4th but fingers crossed.

I am looking forward to seeing how good the new Android OS is. I have all my music geared up on a pendrive and am ready to play a bit of Bon jovi through the Bowers and Wilkins!!!!

Roll on June :)

no , volvos strict independently audited protocols and franchise agreements say it should take at least an hour , if it doesn't ,then complain ... 👍

There is more info on one of the Merc forums here https://forums.mbclub.co.uk/threads/...s-help.268579/

Seems like volvo have handled it better, Merc seem to be delaying deliveries to remove it. Volvo at least communicated that it wouldn't be present in MY22 cars.

If you don't mind me asking what were the issues with our new car.

My friend from Manchester keeps telling me to take my flashlight with me and go over the entire car, both in and out when I sign for it. He works delivering new and used cars and says there's always a good chance of bodywork issues, especially if you opt for any ceramic coatings or internal protections as these things are done in house following them taking delivery.

It's not too long now so I shall post here after I collect!

I keep looking on Youtube for 2022 reviews but there's absolutely nothing yet.

The main thing was a scuff/small tear about an inch long in the upholstery on the rear seat behind the head restraint. It was obvious when you dropped the seat back and the repair was good given 99% of the time I’d not see it. They did offer to order another car and swap the seat if I wasn’t satisfied. Also discovered several bits of plastic protective wrapping in the interior that hadn’t been removed fully and the console storage lid didn’t latch. The other thing that I did spot was the lack of heated wheel, but this wasn’t solely the dealers fault - Volvo changed the option pack spec and deleted it. Dealer ordered and fitted it after delivery.

Wow, that's quite a bit of stuff!

I will definitely go over mine with a fine tooth comb. I will lower the seats and everything after hearing your experience. I probably wouldn't have gone to that extent.

Thanks for sharing that!

I picked up my new car today and I also found a few bits of plastic wedged between the cushion and back of the rear seats. Other than that, pretty happy with what I’ve picked up.

One small snag: they fit the wrong number plate on the car! Going back to get the correct one fitted. The one on all the paperwork is correct but the actual one on the car is one letter out. “We don’t usually check that the workshop has fitted the correct plate”. Hopefully I don’t get stopped by police wondering why my car is not a silver Mini Cooper...
