Interior fan won’t turn off
The interior fan I my 2015 v60 won’t turn off. Tried disconnecting the battery but it came back on when reconnecting. No codes are showing. Disconnected the resistor which has stopped it. Should I replace the resistor or do I need to replace the fan?

That’s what was pulled. Currently on holiday and called out breakdown service which is a very helpful local family run garage..
They have ordered the part and are going to fit it this afternoon. They are willing to work round us and will fit it when suits. |

Resistor location
Hi folks - can anyone help me find the resistor? 2012 XC60
Fans are on full speed, even with the engine off. T’internet suggests it’s almost certainly the resistor. I’ve got hold of one, but I can’t see where it is. I’ve watched a couple of YouTube videos, but they are from across the pond, so they’re showing LHD. I’m guessing the resistor is probably in the same location (they wouldn’t switch it between LHD and RHD would they?) I have a feeling that a fair bit of stuff is going to have to come off to get at it. I’m pretty handy with the spanner’s, but at 62 years old, I don’t much fancy the idea of hanging upside down in the passenger footwell to get the damn thing out. Failing that, can anyone tell me how to get the upper fuse box panel out, so that I can pull the cassette fuse for the fans? EDIT: Found it (after pulling off a load of trim and removing the glovebox…) 2 minutes to fit the resistor, but 2 hours to get everything out of the way to fit it and then put it all back together again… |
