Fuel filter housing D5 09

Hi all does anyone have any idea what size the removal socket that's needed for my fuel filter cap as seen in the picture. It's got 16 flutes on the side and is larger than 88mm. But I don't have a pair of callipers to measure it. I could use a strap I know, but would prefer to get the right socket.

Cheers Colin.

I can't find it they list a silver tool with five or six notches cut into it thats to small,
Also the 88mm 16 flutes tool is also to small. I may have to buy a measuring tool
just to find out the size.

I did look at those but I'd prefer the cup type socket.

A little update I popped into Machine Mart as they had a Sealey
VS7003 oil filter socket/wrench set the 90mm doesn't fit and the
93mm are to large..

yes I know it's either 91 or 92 but finding one to try is a pain..
I might try my local dealer and see what the use.

Colin.

I can't believe no one else hasn't had this problem?

Im going to ask a stupid question now.

The nut on the top, is that not how you twist/get the oil filter top off ?

I had to buy a 36mm socket to get mine off, rather than a 'cup'. 2008 D5 185.

That's for draining the can only.

I use a chain wrench, does the job...
