V50 1.6 2010 DrivE - hesitation whilst driving at low rpm

Hi all,

I've bought a 2010 v50 1.6 about 4 months ago, and have noticed occasionally whilst cruising probably between 1000-1750rpm, the car will noticably slow down for about 1 second? it doesn't sound like a misfire as the engine seems to sound normal throughout this, only seems to happen once every few days so doesn't really affect driving. Have been getting an 'Engine System Service Required' message the past few weeks also, which makes me fear a potential DPF issue. It's a bit of an old bus with 156k on the clock as of this morning so the idea of a DPF replacement does seem very real, however I am fairly sure it has already had a replacement at some point in its life.

Having plugged in my OBD2 reader I did get an error against the glow plug/glow plug relay (P03080), which might explain a misfire.

Will be servicing it in the coming weeks, inc. a fresh fuel filter to rule out a blockage there, and testing glow plugs in case any one of those might be a dud, so I'll leave this open ended till I've explored every avenue just wondering if anyone has had similar issues?

cheers in advance

Disconnect battery overnight to reset everything, positive off, and back on first...or was it the other way round...best check :)

The glow plug error was a new one in its history and we're now maybe a year down the line since it started without any issues so I think its safe to ignore for now, like the other daft random messages on the bloody things.

Reconnect battery in morning and then disconnect fuse (28 I think, whatever I said in previous posts) clean it up. Dont put it back yet (clean other fuses up at same time by rubbing with emery paper or fine sandpaper. Reconnect all those apart from 28. Try and start car without fuse 28 in it wont start but will go through initial motions..do it a couple of times. Take key out and replace fuse 28..et voila that was my final fix and lasted me quite a while, and you clearly until things started again....
