Egg crate grill for 740
 

Hi, looking for an egg crate grill for my 87 740 GLE. Someone mentioned quite hard to get hold of. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

There appears to be some new , on eBay in Germany, £90 odd !

I've been looking at them for my 740 but I don't think they fit mine as it's a 1990 facelift

Didn’t the 1990 ones have a specific grill?

Found them thanks, I’ve put my model in etc and it says it doesn’t fit via the eBay fitment calculator so I’ve contacted them directly.

The new ones available fit the mk2 760, MK1 960, MK1&2 940 and I believe they will fit the ugly duckling front end on the very late 740's but the original flat front 740 grille is much wider and flat.

Did they not make them for my model then? I thought mine may be different as it’s the flat front end.

I’ve searched high and low online to no avail.

I have to admit, on reading your opening title, I don’t ever remember seeing an egg crate on a 700!🤔 On a UK car.

Which actually doesn’t account for much.

Don't think they fit my 740 Luke. I'll report back next week once my 940 and 740 get together :teeth_smile:
