accelerator pedal "kicks on after 2-3 seconds

hi there !
I have got problem with acceleration. when i put my foot down car does not respond strait away. needs about 2-3s. is really hard specially on roundabouts where you need to move on fast. went to volvo they plugged car and there is result:
Fault codes stored ECM 9180, 9520, CEM 6A01, 6A02, 6C46, E000, check wiring and connections, fault still present, possible internal fault in accelerator pedal, ECM or ETM, requires further investigation.
Turbocharger intercooler is leaking.
This car is 2001 and to be honest i donot want spent money before make sure is only accelerator pedal.
please help!!!!
regards chris

ECM 9180= ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR

ECM 9520 = ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR

CEM 6A01= REAR LEFT DOOR UNLOCKED

CEM 6A02= REAR RIGHT DOOR UNLOCKED

CEM 6C46= STEERING COLUMN LOCK MODULE

CEM E000= COMMUNICATION CONTROL MODULE.

yOU COULD TRY TURNING THE IGNITION FULLY ON BUT NOT START THE CAR AND THEN SLOWLY PRESS THE ACCCELERATOR PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND SLOWLY RELEASE IT.
DO THIS TWICE AND YOU SHOULD CALIBRATE THE THROTTLE PEDAL PROVIDED NOTHING ELSE IS WRONG

thanks Darryl !!!!!
I just did it and is much much better! Still have small delay 0.5-1s specially when I change from 2nd to 3rd gear.
When I should do that exercise with pedal? do I need to wait till computer check all systems(abs, air bags...etc.) ?
thanks

Give it a day or so and see if things settle . You can do the calibration again then if you wish. You MAY have other things wrong but looks like you are making progress.

Good Luck Darryl:thumbs_up:

Check all your fuses. There's one that 'protects' the accelerator pedal, the air con compressor and the radiator fan. When mine blew because the A/C compressor seized I had exactly the same symptoms. Turned out to be a 10amp fuse blown!

Very glad to have helped; I've gained a lot of very useful knowledge from this forum - I think it must be one of the best auto forums around. Also glad you sorted it so easily and cheaply.
