Wolfrace locking wheel nut cover

Odd question, I have a set of classic Wolfrace wheels on my p1800es. They look great and really suit the car. The locking wheel nut on each wheel has a cover which is released by a small magnetic device that you sit in the cover and twist to release and then the cover slides off and the locking nut is exposed.

Three of my four covers come off simply with this device but the fourth just will no twist and doesn’t come off. Which unfortunately means if I have a puncture In that wheel I may be a bit stuffed.

I don’t really want to destroy the cover as it’s a neat piece and I can’t find replacements anywhere, so just asking in case anyone has had similar. I’ve tried the usual WD40 and penetrating oil to no avail so far.

I have never seen these. Provided there are no plastic parts, I would pour a kettle of boiling water on it, then quickly try it whilst its hot.
If it works thoroughly dry it and lubricate well before refitting.

Try contacting Wolfrace and ask them for help.

A strong stand alone magnet might work if it relies on rotation to move the magnetic poles. Magnets lose their power after a while so a small one like the one that is perhaps in the unlocking tool might not now be strong enough to work the reluctant cap. Good luck.
