Can a LPG car be tuned?

I have a v70 2007 T5 with LPG and I have been told such a car cannot have the ECU enhanced or tuned whatever the terminology is, -- is that correct?

I don't see why not. After all, all you're doing with you current set-up is piggy-backing the liquid system anyways. Howeve, it's an added complication which is likely not worth the pain.

I'd be more content to have lower running costs, and not push my luck. How fast did you want to go anyway? But then I'm old, I gave up delusions of driving talent some time ago. Anyways, you've outright admitted you can't drive either. You're on here?

On today's camera-infested roads, if you're doing much in miles, your licence or NCB won't last for long, and that's never a good look. But then, when I was your age, I'd have not listened to some grumpy old b*stard paying £180 a year insurance either.

The petrol ECU can be tunned/remapped as normal.

You will likely have to upgrade the LPG system to cope with the power increase

Depends on the system. I have a BRC sequent 56 system and it is tuned(mapped) via a laptop connected to a dongle which accesses the ECU. When I had the car converted, I sat in the passenger seat while the fitter drove the car and told me what settings to adjust.

As CNG states though, what's the point of going for max performance? Go for efficiency and when you need max power, just switch back over to Super Unleaded
