Tyre pressures for my 17" V70 R alloys
Hi can anyone please tell me what pressures to use on my V70 T5 - but it has 17 " R alloys on it - Thanks Ant

I keep mine at 32psi front and 30psi rear.
Although I'm sure many would disagree. |
Hello Ant and welcome to the forums.
If you're running 215/45/17 on R Satellite wheels, then for the R the pressures are 36psi all round under normal load and not driving over 120mph (approx). However, the T5 is not quite so heavy, so I expect can be used with slightly lower pressures. On the filler cap flap, you'll find the correct pressures for the std. 16" rims, perhaps using the same ratio as those front and back with 36psi as the hightest pressure (front?) as the starting point would give a good result. I haven't got an R, but they're similar tyre sizes to mine:-
I run 36psi all round, anything less than this makes the car feel a bit odd. Volvo put them back to 30psi when I took it in for a service, and I couldn't work out why the car was so sloppy. |
Im running mine at 36F & 34R....Tried lots of diffo pressures on mine & this seems to be about right for my "R". DB.

If yours is a 2WD, then no probs. Also, have you noticed that most forecourt pumps are not calibrated. I've tried a couple on the same day (yes bored that day) and all gave different readings by quite a few PSI. Best get your own guage, at least then you'll have a consistent reading. Oli |
pressures
Thanks all of you - best get some air in them - got them at 32 all round -- thanks again Ant

Im running 215/45/17 and i run mine at 40 psi!!

me too
i run 40 psi on all my 850 T5R's titans. anything lower seems to make the car wear out the outside edges of the tyres before the centre, at 40 psi i seem to get nice even tyre wear.

So you boys like a firm ride then?
Have you found that the newer digitally controlled air pumps at forecourts are wildly variable in the pressure they read? The best pump I've found about is one with a manual setting. Double check with a handheld guage. Need to top up every month. Oli |
