new pump high fuel pressure

Replaced the fuel pump in my 2002 S60 2.4m. Fuel pressure is now reading 95-100 PSI. My vehicle has no PEM. I've been told the pump I bought -
volvo 30761743 is for a vehicle with a PEM. My pump gets a constant 13.5v from the ECM.

Anyone heard of this issue? What it the correct pump?

Bill

It is not the pump which determines the fuel pressure it is the Fuel pressure regulator which in your case should be part of the fuel pump assembly , check the fuel return pipe from the fuel injector rail isn't blocked going back to the tank. that cylindrical stainless steel device on the fuel rail is not the fuel pressure regulator , it is just a pulsation damper. fuel pressure should be about 2.2 bar . 34 psi How are you measuring the fuel pressure?

That pump part number is correct for your car up to chassis number 234999 anyway ! The Pump Electronic Module came out in about 2005 ( probably after chassis 234999 )

S60 high fuel pressure

There is no return line from the fuel rail to the tank.
I'm measuring fuel pressure with a gauge on the fuel rail schraeder valve

ok I remember now ... fuel pressure should be 55 psi 380 kpa .
It cant be anything other than the fuel pressure regulator unit , is it in the pump unit in the tank ..or does your model have a pressure regulator on the fuel pipes around the front of the Right hand rear wheel area under the car?

S60 high fuel pressure

I can't find a regulator - the fuel line runs directly from the fuel filter to the fuel rail. Must be internal to the pump.

indeed yes there were about 5 similar fuel systems on s60 with differences !

S60 high furl pressure

Wouldn't there have to be different fuel pumps for the different control systems?
My pump gets a constant 13.5v from the PCM.

well either the pump is faulty or it is the wrong one . It cant be anything else can it , there should never be 100 psi in the fuel rail . i

what's the last 6 numbers of the VIN ( chassis number ) ?
