P1800 boot lid insulation kit

Has anyone got a comment to share about the relevance of fitting the boot lid insulation - 4 part kit, for the P1800?
Thoughts etc.
Thanks

Hi, Looks like I have an aftermarket 4 piece insulation on mine not so thick. Don't have much to say only may help with the boot not sounding too tinny when you close it ?? if you have that now !

All the 1800S cars came with boot insulation but, oddly, none under the bonnet, so Volvo must have thought it was worthwhile. I've never driven one without so can't vouch for the difference

Worthwhile blocking noise paths from the boot to the cabin as well if not already done. A big one is the space between the quarters and arches. I use 3m thinsulate type insulation and stuff it in from both sides. Also some heavy layer on the arches.

A good idea that. I'm undergoing a restoration and will be putting sound/vibration damping material everywhere I can think of - but I didn't consider the gap each side of the boot that leads into the rear of the cabin.

Yes it makes a difference. My 1800 with 3/4” foam with a shiny coating. How much? We’ll no numbers, but it’s pleasingly noticeable.
