Indicator stalk shenanigans
 

Has anyone ever taken apart and rebuilt an Amazon indicator stalk mechanism or know where its possible to locate an original part? Works fine when turning right but is very hit and miss when selecting left. Havent taken it apart yet to investigate but are there any known points of failure?

The known point of failure is 50 years of passenger compartment dust, including possibly fido hairs from some previous biological anti-theft system, also possibly incorrect interaction with the Cancelling Collar. I suggest cleaning/flushing followed by a lubing with a product with will stay put and not deteriorate (I suggest something like Super-Lube synth grease strategically applied).
