Wanted "Old" 960 Boot Badge

Looking for an "old" 960 boot badge (same font as the 940), not the italic 850-style one fitted to later 960s.

940 also changed to this italic font at same time as 960 mk2 introduction - 95 model year

Also pretty sure the 940 never changed as I had a late 96 model with the original square font 👍

I think we're both right now you come to mention it - the model name stayed with the old square font while the engine size and trim level beneath (when present) changed to the later italic font.

Yeah, “2.3” “Turbo” or “SE” were all italics (see the 96 Sports models).

Bizarrely, the “Classic” (which I had), still had CLASSIC in the square font, underneath the rear lights (I had a saloon).

Yes, the moment I typed that, I was waiting for someone to come back and say that for the later models they reverted back to the old font....

Reversion probably due to there being a large stash of old-style badges in the stores.

Waste not, want not.

Well the "Classic" trim was only available for 96-98 for the "run out" models.

But yes, there was probably a surplus of square 940 badges and it didn't seem economic to produce new italic badges for 2 years.
