2015 XC60 electrical demons
 

Afternoon all.

The "charging system fault, service urgent" message popped up on my car and the wipers began to operate and I can't stop them. No electric windows, no indicators, and right hand side lights don't work.

Done a bit of investigating and found the main red cable to the alternator wasn't live. So I followed the cable to the bulkhead and disconnected it from the unit it attaches too. I touched the cable onto the battery + terminal and then refitted it to the module. Power to alternator now and charging okay.

Turn vehicle off and then back on and no power to the alternator again unless I supply power to it first.

Anyone had an issue like this before?
