I see. By experience there is no way to fit the trim onto the seal without braking it if the window is not removed. the trim goes under the seal and the seal on top of the lip. it's a bit tricky I agree. Not that difficult for a pro or if you DIY you need help of a friend, remove the window, refit the trim and put everything back together.

Windscreen back in! What da Fu..!!! One of the most complicated things ever seen 😳😳😳. Hopefully good for another 50 Years.
Boot, rear doors easy peasy.

Thank you for that. I was interested in what you said about the windscreen being difficult. The RB has had a later windscreen with the broad rubber seal fitted (which works perfectly well). The chrome trim that held the original in came with the car and I have the fitting clips - I was toying with the idea of re-fitting an original screen with the chrome strip - but you have convinced me to leave it as it is :-)

Correct, you need a fitting kit with clips. Clips brake soon after the screen is in position and you’ll know job is done properly. It’s a 2 man job, and very skilled or bye bye glass and trim.
I was thinking to replace the trim after the glass was installed but no way. I’ll
Never touch it again. I’ll have to polish the metal from scratches. With my surprise I have discovered there are no chrome bits in this car, it’s all brushed steel.

Thank you for that. I think I'll leave the later, rubber seal as it is. I think the later seal suits the RB fine, but then I'm making no pretence at a restoration:

I think the trim piece is the same as yours, this came with the RB:

... I think these are the correct clips:

I'll hang on to the trim and clips just in case they come in useful one day.

Looking at that fantastic trim I would suggest to replace the black to this!
Not an easy task but sure it definitely worth 80/100 quid to get it installed!!
Go for it. Your amazing car will look even better.

Do you really think it would be worth it? I’ll think about it - the seal that is fitted works very well (no leaks!).

Best wishes,

Alan

... you wouldn't have any photos of the windscreen (and trim) being fitted would you?

Unfortunately didn’t think of filming it or take pictures. It would have been great I know. My apologies to you all 😥.
