t5 850 lowering

hi all newbie here
so after just blowing up my ford rs turbo im looking for summit reliable and fast
so im looking for a 75 saloon 850 model
looking into them tho i want to modyfy my one once i purchase it
ive looked into lowering and i will be going for a 60mm drop possibly more
so my question is can the standard shocks handle that amount of lowering?where in the uk stocks the bilstein shocks and how much are they and how do u tell if your volvo has the self levelling shocks?

If the shocks are original they are probably very soft and the front top mounts will be far from their best.

I think Don from Kalmar-Union stocks Bilstein, I doubt you will beat him on price.

If you look under the rear of your car at the shocks if they have a rubber gaiter over the shock they are self levelers.

You can buy coilovers for the 850 but they're not cheap (over a grand at least), with this setup you can have it as low as you like.

cheers for your replys fellas going to look at a t5 tomorro so hopefully its what im after
will the koni adjustables take a 60mm drop and do u know anywhere that will provide a 60mm spring as opposed to me attacing 40mm with an angle grinder?

I'm not cetain but I wouldn't think they would go that low without coilovers, I know Eibach do some replcament springs for the 850's with a 30mm drop (I'm fitting some again tomorrow), I had some on my last car and you couldn't get a trolly jack under the front spoiler it was that low, so 60 would be scraping along on it's floor.

that the aim tc im going euro style
i cant afford to pay a grand for coilovers tho asmuch as i would like too i cannot justify a grand on them
was gonna use bilsteins tc4s with 40mm lowering springs witha coil cut of each one.
anyone think this will do the trick?

You need your arse kicked! To consider running cut springs is a bad idea.

Airbag's??, I've never priced them up but I would imagine that setup being expensive as well. I've just lowered mine on Eibach's, I bought them secondhand and the rear's had been cut down, this is how low mine is at the moment.
