Keyless Entry - Turning Off
I have owned many Volvos, but my V90 was the first with keyless entry (October 2019 model). This was stolen a few weeks ago by thieves using some kind of cloning device I imagine, despite keys being in a Faraday pouch and away from the front of the house.
I really like Volvos, and plan to get another one (new), but wanted to know if the V60 or V90 had the option to disable keyless entry. Thanks. |
Sorry you were the victim of this! Not sure if you can deactivate it but the new ones come with a redesigned key fob that deactivates if it isn’t moving (ie if it’s left on a table or in a drawer).

Assuming the faraday pouch was working correctly, the new fob design wouldn't have helped in this instance. Shame, I didn't think V90's were that desirable to car thieves...

Mine doesn't have keyless entry, is it compulsory now?

Those faraday pouches wear out in 4-6 months.
You need to take the pouch out with you and try opening the car with the key still in the pouch. And indeed they expire in 4-6 months I’m afraid. The faraday boxes last a lot longer. Very sorry to hear about your car. |
