Vacuum assisted engine mounts shut off
I've searched out the earlier threads on these mounts, can't find the answer to my question.
Just got my 240K-miles 2002 V70 back from garage repair - map sensor and intercooler were both shot, also the t-piece on the vacuum pipe, so all those have been replaced. But they also found one of the engine mounts was leaking so they simply blanked off the vacuum supply to the engine mounts, said the mounts themselves looked fine. 7-mile urban drive home, it doesn't feel any different. Maybe it will on a longer/faster journey? But my real question is - in the long-term, is it okay to run without vacuum to those mounts, or as the song goes, will there be trouble ahead? |
We've been running our V70 D5 without them for a few years now.
Haven't had any issues. |

I found that once the mounts were had it, that the gearbox dropped down onto the Snubber , the little rubber bit on the sub frame, also I tried the none vacuum mounts , it was like using a large pneumatic road breaker ! I thought I could go cheap but now have the hassle of replacing both mounts again with the Right ones !
