V60 D6 Various sudden electrical failures

Drove car yesterday and all fine. Got in car to move it for a wash and no response from electric seats, windows or mirror adjustement. Mirror dips when reverse selected and sunroof is ok. Any clues? Car is out of warranty this coming Friday, in the morning i am supposed to be collecting caravan and set off on hols on friday.... this car has to be the worst car i have ever had the misfortune to buy. Very strangely the windows work from the key fob.....

I had a very similar experience this past week. Windows not working, power seats not working, no interior lights. Traced it back to a blown 7.5 amp fuse that covers the drivers door controls. Fuse 3 in the larger of the two fuse compartments under the glovebox. This might be different for you though as I have a MY16 XC60, but worth checking.

Thanks, i will look into it however the seats are not controlled from the doors....

I think most P3 variant do, both close and open , so not a fault

I know the fob operation isn’t a fault, you miss my point they don’t function from the switches!

And it isn’t the door control fuse either…

Make sure you send an email notifying the dealer of the fault then, you don’t want to add arguing whether this occurred under warranty to your woes 😭

Oh i will be! They offered to look at it next Tuesday…. They didn’t understand ‘we go on holiday on Friday’…

Do you have Volvo breakdown cover?

Sorted! Very confusing/complicated fuse arrangement with 2 separate fuses each on a different fuse board that are for the drivers door control panel. I set to last night to work through each of the multiple fuse boards in the car and eventually found the second fuse which also affects the powered seats controls. Quote why is a mystery given the seat controls are on the seat and not the door. I spoke to a Volvo technician yesterday and he thought the fault was with a control unit however as i pointed out that logic failed given the windows worked from the key and the passenger door switches. Lesson to learn is the car functions can have upto 3 fuses each….
