Time for the Tow bar

After all my huffing and puffing about which tow bar to fit to my MY21 V90 CC I decided go down the Volvo fitted semi- electric kit. Has anyone had any luck getting any discount from the Volvo main dealers or am I wasting my time even asking. The car is going back to the dealer I purchased the car from a couple of weeks ago.

Cheers Roy

I would be looking at 10% discount from the dealer you bought the car from, make sure they are aware you purchased the car from them and ask for 10% as that is the usual parts discount.

Let me know how you get on please - I'm after one of these too!

Thank you

Marshall’s Volvo give 20% off if your a Volvo owners club member. It will cost you £35 to join but will more than pay for itself. 2p/L off at Shell too as a VOC member.

Or price match the parts with TMS:

and ask the dealer to match the parts price (and give 10% off the labour of course).

Or you could buy the kit from TMS and then pay the dealer to fit it?

TMS seem to give a straightforward 20% off everything. They had a bit of a wobble recently when they migrated to a new phone and email system and everything went into meltdown but my experience has otherwise been very good. Genuine bits sent out very quickly and at a great price.

My dealer said that they simply couldn't match the prices, but were happy for me to supply the bits and they would fit them, which is what I have done for the Disks and pads on both cars recently.

Might be worth ringing on Monday. In my experience they can get anything that a dealer can (because they are in fact part of a main dealer group.......)

Don't know if a fixed towbar is of any interest to you, but i am selling a genuine fixed towbar and aftermarket electrics which just plug straight into 2 plugs in the boot. No coding needed. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144187096245
I managed to fit in approx 2-3 hours, and removal was similar time.
