Steering limiter stops
Well today I decided that they needed changing , lots of looks when doing a tight turn in car parks etc . Look at Sirrob video ,thought simple little job, Not for me ! The bolts have a small nut screwed on behind the limiter, so can only be undone a bit at a time , it took almost an hour to change them over !! V70 Optima D5 .

Could you not hold the nut with a spanner while you undo the bolt with a socket. Sounds like someone's added a nut as a spacer. A pile of washers would probably be easier

diferent size tires need diferent size /colour lock stops what size tires do you have?
|
Tyres are --- 215/55/R16, the stops are White, the bolts appeared to have Locking compound on them , and I just swapped them over as per 'S " video .
|
it might be worth getting new ones as swaping them to the other sides is only a temporary fix . on the plus side they are fairly inexpensive do it right do it once.
|
My advice would be to purchase genuine oem lock stops, I cheaped out and bought aftermarket after a few thousand miles it's sounded like someone dragging their nails down a blackboard turning in contact with the lock stops. Ended up putting the original ones one but swapped sides as a temporary measure, I also cleaned the back of the "hockey sticks" to make sure there was a fully clean contact surface

yea I had to reuse my old one on one side as parts monster tolerances were ****e.
They send about two replacements but still no good. (steel arms, so not same as yours) |
