Fuel tank, and brake parts (Volvo 145 wagon)
 

I need a good fuel tank and brake parts, rotors, pads, and calipers.

Guessed at what year you have but they didn't change much! Almost all the brake parts you could ever need there! No fuel tank though..........

It's a 1970, It never crossed my mind to check rock auto. If you can find a fuel tank also or know of a tank that fits (even a fuel cell) that'd be great!

It occurred to me that the early 245 models probably use either the same or a very similar tank to the 145, certainly in size/shape. You may have to blank off certain breather stubs, return stubs (for EFi models that yours may not use) or similar but the back end of the 145 and early 245 are virtually identical. Rock Auto list a tank for the 245 so might be worth a look.

You may benefit from joining 140 facebook groups (there are at least 2) the majority of members seem to be stateside. They are friendly and helpful and I'm sure somebody will have a secondhand tank they will be able to send to you.

Or Turbobricks forum, weighted more to the 240 on up but lots of expertise there for the older ones too.

Might be worth an ask on the condition of the fuel tank. Not sure on the legalities of shipping a used fuel tank though.

Could be a lot of other parts there you'd find useful too.

145 tank is behind the rear axel whereas 245 tank is in-front so doubt it fits.

I fitted 245 rear calipers to my 145. Approximately, imperial to metric conversion. 10mm bolts not 3/8". Metric brake unions not imperial so have to make pipes with one each end. 245 calipers have rust prevention concertinas. IIRC it looked like 245 vented disks and calipers would also fit.

I think the 245 have a totally different tank due to the forward location compared to the 1970 145 its the result of the safety car project they moved it from the rear to a mid mounted position for rear crash safety.

the 140 and 164 got the same tank as the 240 in late 1973 as part of the face lift revisions, you know the one with the 244 style speedometers and black dashboards

That could be why i thought they were the same then! :thumbs_up: My last 144 was a facelift L reg and from what i recall the tank was very similar to the 240 but i didn't realise the tank design had been changed.
