V60 D5 2014 - Front NS door wont unlock via fob or button
Hello,
I have had issues with the door handles for sometime. I rectified the drivers side by removing both handles and cleaning the terminal connections. I am now happy all works well on this side. However the front passenger door wont unlock via the fob or the internal lock/unlock switch. Once I open it up from the inside (now unlocked) it works perfectly) Before I strip the door this weekend looking for bad earths or corroded connections is there a common quick fix ? Many Thanks. |

Had the same issue on my s60 2014 but never got round to looking at it. But today I was giving it a coat of looking at and while messing with things decided to lock the door phisicaly with the actual key removed from the fob. Took the plastic cover off locked and unlocked a couple of times with key, tried fob "hey presto" it started to work again. Seems I may have disturbed some sticking dirt or something. Only use a couple of times since, so cant say its a perminant fix, but lets wait and see ey. Might save the door strip down and expense of new Parts. Good luck. Ant. |
Thanks Ant. I did spray the locking tab to hinder any tight spots. The issue is very random. Ill try the key lock tomorrow. Cheers

My locks gone again, looks like ill have to look into it further after all. Did you manage to source a new actuator at a decent price yet. Will also be waiting until weather improves a bit.

If you read my post on the thread below for my XC60 which will be the same. I've put together the relevant info and Youtube links etc. Motors are available on the usual auction site, they took a few weeks delivery from China. It is straightforward enough but you need a long torx screwdriver to get the outer door handle off. I bought a set in Halfords for about a tenner, which made the job a lot easier.
Give yourself at least a full morning or afternoon to do the job, cheaper than buying a new actuator. https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=315765 |
I temporarily solved mine by squirting loads of wd40 into the lock handles but it only lasted a few weeks. The rear door now unlocks only once after opening it from the inside and locking it and the front passenger one's intermittent every week or so.
Somebody on here recommended an auto electrician not far from me so I think im taking mine there. I've got an alarm malfunction message I want them to look at as well. |

Hi Spaceman, Thanks for the info, I've been looking for the motors for a while but couldn't find them, but think I have now, searched, "Shiwaki Automotive Door Lock Actuator Motor For Jaguar Volvo" Do these look like the ones you fitted, from usual auction site. I was searching for original part numbers on the strip down video, but nothing coming up. Ill order these if its a yes. Cheers, Ant. |
Those look the same as the ones I ordered. The item number from my order last year is 154040341205 . Took a few weeks delivery.

Hi Spaceman. Cheers for that.
