Twin DCOE Weber issues

Hi gang,

I've had twin DCOE's on my 1983 245 for a few months now and I'm having a few issues. I'm struggling to rev past 4k RPM and no matter how rich or lean I make the mix, it won't go past 4k. It does make an odd noise at this point, like a sucking tap kind of sound (whatever that means).

The PVC system currently has a small K&N breather on it rather than going back into the intake as would be stock. Could this be the source of my woes? If so, how would I plumb in the breather which would usually go before the carb and the nipple which would go into the manifold?

Touching on a possible vacuum leak, I have had a new break servo installed and, when breaking, I can feel the throbbing of the engine. I feel I'm going down a rabbit hole of issues so any advice and help would be extremely welcome.

Would a spicier ipd came solve it?

Cheers!

Patrick

You do not need to change the cam and IPD do not offer a better cam only reproduction factory cams.

Sounds like your servo has not been plumbed in correctly.

What distributor are you running?

The breather is not going to be the issue but I would suggest plumbing it into your air filters.

Were the manifold and carbs supplied by me?
