1966 1800S - Under bonnet and boot lid insulation
I own a 1966 1800S Coupe and am thinking of installing under bonnet and boot lid insulation. Was this originally fitted to this model year and are there any disadvantages of fitting it ? I have seen it on other P1800 models at shows. Many thanks

I installed the mylar faced (sound attenuating, thermal reflective, and non-absorbing/easy wipe-to-clean) 1" think foam on mine and like noise attenuating characteristics, and the look. Be certain you apply the self-adhesive backing to a well-cleaned surface (NO oil film!) so it does not release and allow the material to drop, possibly onto hot surfaces... Cheers |

Your '66 car would have had the thin sound/vibration deadening inside the bootlid as per the pic, but not under the bonnet. Only E's and ES's had it under the bonnet and it was pretty thick stuff. Can't think of any disadvantages to fitting it as long as its securely glued but it wont look original (if that bothers you).
