compressor housing's s40 t4
 

simple's... is changing a 14t compressor housing to a 19t doable (and internals) or would i have to swap the 14t for 16t ?

and i'm guessing if both are aplicable the 19t is going to give the most lag ?

i was put off mental tuning a while back (was a midgie's knob away from going to see don at kalmar till the rozzers got me) and thought i may aswell sell up but the more i think about it the more i like the idea of just having two cars and going mad on the t4 as a track beast ???

i'm trying to find out for a winter project that might be on the cards.

I keep coming back to the T4 as a track car... cheap, fast - you could do a lot worse.

What I know that has been done is, for you to get a proper T5 manifold preferably an S60R manifold (not one of these new pretend T5's) and have the 5th exhaust port cut off, this allows you to fit a better flowing exhaust manifold and the 19t is fitted with ease..

do you know what monkey,the more i think about it the closer i am to getting 300bhp and keeping the t4. i've looked into it lots and including a day at kalmar union, parts,i think for about a gand'ish its doable, i must be pushing 230ish now, and all i would need is the compressor housing and internal's and injectors.i've already got the rest of the parts and the space to store the car over the winter to work on it.

i've been keeping an eye out for such goodie's and they are like gold dust,do you know if any mod to the exhaust flange or length in down pipe is needed if a t5 mannifold is used?

Due to the exhaust flange being 3" on the 19t you will also need to replicate this to your DP but not because your fitting a T5 manifold.

There really isn't any point in fitting such a turbo as the 19t unless you are running a larger 3" DP you will only suffer from higher EGT's if you fit the smaller T4 exhaust housing..

so i'm really looking at sticking another £500 to the buget then for the firreta down pipe or what ever you call em ?
can i not scrounge the extra pony's with the hibrid set up then or is the full 19t going to be my only option ? p.s. ta for the link to fleabay

The amount of cash you spend on your quest is purely up to your self.

For example my custom 3" DP cost £225 with out a cat but it has Vbands fitted to a section so I can fit a cat for the MOT.

IMO there is no point in fitting a larger turbo and attaching it to a very restrictive DP, All you will be doing id raising the EGT's and restricting the exhaust gas flow.

i'm near darlington but that has no refrance to how much i can spend,LOL, at the minute i'm running a standard pipe on a 14t turbo and then a 100 cel race cat,there was a massive change to the car when i fitted it so thought i might of got away with keeping that on and doing the hibrid route.i totally understand and agree with about downsizing after the turbo thats why i was asking about the hibrid way, then i'm not loosing out any where on size differance's.

you could try the Nuremberg ring... I believe Strbryan left rather a few components there you might be able to use ;)
