Recalls

Just ring your local dealer, they can tell you fairly instantly. also every volvo that visits a dealer for any reason has a recall pre check carried out before you arrive, and dealers using the vida booking system get a pop up window telling them a recall is outstanding persistantly on their screen! any that need doing will be done free of charge.

Recall R29904

I've just received a recall letter for my 2016 model year V60 D4. Seems there can be small cracks developing in a rubber fuel hose. Unsurprisingly the most common symptom will be a smell of diesel!

V70 Recall

I have just received a recall letter for my V70 2016 D4 which states that "in a worst case scenario this may cause a localised fire in the engine bay" but they are saying it is an issue with the engines plastic inlet manifold which may melt or deform.
I phoned the number on the letter this morning but they will not tell me how long they have been aware of this. It is concerning as I have only had the for 5 weeks and it was sold as an approved Volvo car from an approved Volvo dealer and has already been back in 3 times with faults. Any advice?

Details here

Hello,

New here.

I currently own a 2012 V60 D5 Auto FWD.

Bought in 2014 from a Volvo dealer with 25.000 km and a full 2 years warranty.

In the end of 2014, with 50.000 km on the odo, a connecting rod snapped and took its way through the block, destroying the whole engine.

The incident was taken care of brilliantly, with a nice lended car during the 3 weeks wait, but clearly, the guys at volvo were a bit suspicious about how it happenned. There's even a "technical inspector" from the insurance company holding the warranty who phoned me asking if I didn't have excessive rpm...

(I told him If he had any serious qualifications, he could teach me how to do this with an auto gearbox, which took his askings to a qick end...)

In the end everything went fine, and now the car's still perfectly fine with 170.000 km, but today is the first time I read about an issue perfectly in tune with this.
