S60 boot lock
 

My boot won’t open on the fob or when you press the release handle the only way is with the key. This is a bit of a pain but at least I have access. When I press the fob I can hear the relay clicking but not the wind you get on the release operation . Now I watched I few vids on you tube and everyone had a different solution to their problem ie: frayed wires, locking release spring and the sensor on the boot release broken.
Anyone had similar problems and what was the result.
I will be looking myself at these solutions , just a bit busy at moment , so any help would be appreciated.

When you lock the car, do the indicators flash as normal?

Yes central locking works as normal but boot won’t open. There’s no whirring sound on boot when you press the fob just the relay 2 clicks very low.

But do the indicators flash as normal when unlocking and locking the car?

Yes , everything works as normal.

I guess you'll need to get to the plug associated with the latch mechanism and try to get some voltage readings.
Also check if there's a separate fuse associated with just the boot.

There is a separate fuse but that’s ok, I think it’s the spring inside the lock not activating. I shall sort it in a week or so thanks for the help.

I don’t think it has one , I’ve not noticed it.

An update: when the boot is open and I engage the lock manually I can open it by the fob or by the boot release handle but not when the boot is shut. I shall investigate further.
