S W Autos & The Mouthy Blonde

Hello All

I’m a fairly new member & have been looking around VOC and found a few articles that I feel cast aspersions on my car & S W Autos who carried out work on her.

If the aesthetic changes I’ve/we’ve made to the car are not to people’s liking then fair enough, everybody is entitled to their opinion.:car-smiley-003:

Some of the things I’ve read make insinuations about Mouthy’s performance though – I thought I was best qualified to speak on this matter as this is my car & only 3 other people have actually driven her (one of which was Stuart).

I initially visited Stuart at S W Autos because I’d cooked my brakes  and was pleasantly surprised to find that he was also an expert on modifications & showed me his beast of an 850R. We sat down and planned some modifications to best suit what I was looking to gain from Mouthy.

These mods included a rather aggressive lsd which I’m still very pleased with. Only on very rare occasions do the front wheels spin and this is always in the wet. I have no wish to go into detail on every single modification but I would like to point out that Stuart has helped transform my Labrador with a bit of a bad temper into a snarling Rottweiller. She is a joy to drive every time and I’m as pleased with the work carried out today as I was when I first picked her up after surgery (even more so as everything’s settled in now).

I’ve driven the length and breadth of this country several times with no problems (other than me being pedantic which Stuart tolerates with good humour) and felt it fair to allay any misconceptions.

Many thanks Stuart and his team at S W Autos:car-smiley-003: :car:  :car-smiley-004: :car-smiley-031:

I for one am always interested in how someone gains HP.
So personally, I'd apreciate it if you did elaborate on the mods.

EDIT: Nevermind, found the info.

So you like the LSD? Does it indeed increase traction?
I have no traction these days. I'm considering an LSD as well.
Do you know how many hours (and pounds/euro's) it takes to install an LSD.

Thanks,

Janis

Hi Janis

The LSD has made a massive difference to my traction. Before it was all too easy to light up the front tyres. Now, that power is getting on the tarmac much more than being wasted spinning wheels.

Prices for LSD's are between £700-800 (I think) which is 1017-1163 Euros. It is quite a laborious task and takes at least one day to change.....

I can thoroughly recommend one and good luck!!!:Banane44:

Yeah, but then you'd have to drive a 700/900 series! :laughing-smiley-008

and your point is?

Thank you for your comments.....the dyno figures are impressive especially from a standard ECU.

Stuart of S W Autos and myself have both received bad treatment from some people in the Volvo community. I believe my car has, in the past, been referred to as 'the tuned T5R', which has been 'ruined' by S W Autos and other such derrogatory statements.......

The proof is in the pudding which goes to show that those negative and untrue statements were based on nothing more than gossip and rumour-mongering:cyclops:

The truth will out!!!

P.S. Stuart - If that's what you can do when you 'ruin' a car, I'll be bringing my VW to you for you to 'ruin' for me:) :) :)
