940 rear tailgate spoiler
 

As title. I've been looking for a while for an OEM rear spoiler (not the 960 one) for my 95 940. Colour not important as I know they are rare now.

I've pre ordered one of these.

I had an OEM one but it didn't have the light built in.

That's great. Any idea how it's attached?

Presume it uses a similar affair to the OEM but not seen anything yet

Cheers. It's been a long road after finding it on the back of a scrap lorry.
Currently running hydras with winter tyres as I'm up in Scotland. With the g80 I was amazed how good it is in snow.

Club member came to the rescue with a genuine spoiler. Hope to fit it next week once its painted.

was it easy enough to fit ?

Yes, two little C clamps either side and proper 3m tape as per the volvo instructions. No holes needed drilled so happy days.

I haven't seen many 940's in white.....

Small metal C shaped pieces of metal with 2 small screws in. When tightened then pull the ends of the spoiler tight.

C clamps?? He repeated unwittingly.

Can these be made or bought? Is there a part number??

And whats the difference with the 960 one??

The design or the 960 and 940 spoilers are very different. The 960 spoiler is very subtle and I couldn't get it to mount properly and wasn't wanting to drill my tailgate. I can't find a diagram of the oem fitting kit and the cars away getting a new turbo and other bits done so I can't take a picture sadly. I made one side myself as the spoiler I bought only had one.

Thanks for that,wagonwheels..Did you say that this is aftermarket?It looks very different to mine,which is an OEM one from a 960(I think).No 'C' clips required.....

My 960 has 5 plastic clips that the spoiler pushes onto, all of them have perished, is there a place I can get these from? Car looks a bit of a mess without its spoiler.

How about trying some double sided number plate foam tape.Mine was removed from a car some time ago and that's all that held it in place.If you go this route don't forget to clean the points of contact with alcohol wipes...Scotch anyone??

It's an oem 940 spoiler. The 960 one is very different and attaches totally differently.
