Breaking XC90 2005 SE
 

I am breaking our old XC90. It is on a 54 plate and is a 2005 manufacturer year model with 256k miles on it. The main reason for breaking it is at this age and mileage it’s not worth much as a whole car plus there are a number of worn parts, such as wheel bearings, that need replacing. I am also using it as a teaching tool for my Daughter who is interested in learning how she can maintain her own things in the future.

Currently all parts are available, apart from the spare wheel. Options fitted to this car include Bi-xenon headlights (the reflector ones), the updated performance sound system including the rear sub. Sat nav. Heated seats and the passenger one is electric. There is also a Denision gateway 500 that gives iPod/iPhone connection to the sound system.

Now the bad parts. The seats are full leather and whilst that is in good condition the drivers seat and middle row seat behind the driver both have failed stitching on the seat base. The passenger seat, the plastic trim that holds the seat controls has broken.

Any other parts just ask and I will state if I have them and what condition they are in.
I can post smaller items for cost but will need time in which to do this. Larger items will need to be picked up. I do not have any means to package these but would be willing to work with you to get them out to you.

Steering angle sensor
 

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you are breaking your car but I also understand the economic sense in doing so.

I'm looking for a steering angle sensor for my 2004 AWD D5.

I keep getting anti skid service required as a message & after connecting the VIDA the angle sensor was highlighted as having a communication issue.

Do you have available, how much & would you post to Preston, Lancashire?

Unfortunately I have already agreed that to someone else.
I hope you get it sorted, as a tip don’t wait to long to get it sorted otherwise the error gets permanently logged and the only way to clear it is to get the software on the module reloaded. I know this to my cost.

Price stands. I have had a look at the one on the car and it is complete as far as I can tell. I won’t have time before the weekend to remove it however.

Yes I do have them. The paint on them will need properly rubbing down as it isn’t the best.

I got them off ok but one of them (the right hand one) has been fixed at some point in the past.

No it’s the drivers side.

How much for just the passenger side? That’s the worst one on my daughters car?
Do you have the indicator light lense too? Just the plastic which is in the door rubbing strip?
What colour is the interior please? If it’s beige/ cream is the centre arm rest in ok condition?

I can do the passenger one for £8 with postage. The indicator is there but I will need to take a look at it. The interior is black.

Wrong colour interior I’m afraid. The washer cover sounds fine. Can you let me know if you can remove the indicator lense from the door rubbing strip? Hopefully if you can it should all slip into the same jiffy. As.

I managed to get it off but it appears to have been stuck on at some point in its past and has a hole in the back. I can chuck it in with the washer cover if you want it. No charge.

Do you mean the bit that you use to open it from the outside, where the number plate lamp holders are? If so that is undamaged and the rod has been replaced with a stainless steel one.

Do you have the driver side wing mirror and housing still available?

Yes I do have mirror and the housing. Are you after the whole thing or just the glass and housing? They are folding mirrors.

May be looking for (yet) another rear wiper motor assembly. Is that still on there and working fine? Cheers John

Stupidly minor part, but one that's been bugging me since I got the car.
Does yours have the twin cup holder which clips in to the (and I'm going to get technical here) slidy out thingy :teeth_smile: from the rear of the centre console.
I can send a pic if you want.

Hi. I have just bought and XC60 and have noticed that the base of one of the cup holders in the centre console has a hole exposing a nut in the depths of the chassis.
I assume that this should be covered by a circular rubber pad - do you have a similar part on the XC90?

No the XC90 one does not have something similar unfortunately

If you slide out the slidy bit...see, I'm getting all techy again!, the cup holder just lifts out of that.
How much for it?

So you have the slide but. In that case yes it just clips out.
No idea of price £15 posted?
