Excellent this is good news - I'll await the how to, but from reading on here it seems relatively straight forward, although I'm not sure how you get the output from the DVB box to the monitor in the car....

Pandamedic Dec 27th, 2011 23:45

Looks great.

I'll need to do this to my TV in my volvo too.

Gazzza Dec 27th, 2011 23:46

Not to worry I will do a video pictures blow by blow every one will be able to do it its that simple unless i say pop round here ill sort it for you and Charge you all £500 LOL

Gazzza Dec 30th, 2011 12:48

Well where back after an outage lets hope we dont get to many of them LOL

Right seen a few people and I can put hand on heart and say what a complete bunch of W*****S they all want the same thing £300 for a unit and £300 to fit one . .

No one will supply one or offer a fitting kit for us

So looks like we will all be hitting e bay I guess as soon as I now get a chance to fit the wires ( raining for the last few days ) ill post what to do and if the unit performs well etc so looks like Monday some time Ill pop to mates Garage and carry on

Possible Reverse Camera Input

Gazza,

I am monitoring your installation and eagerly await the final pictures etc.

Unfortunately my Jul 2007 XC70 does not have the TV Tuner but does have the factory fitted RTI. I am mainly interested in adding a reverse camera but would be happy for any guidance on how to achieve my goal at minimal cost.

The Canadian IMIV units look like one solution, but I have no need for iPOD (don't own one!).

Keep up the good (and interesting) work

Ok started fitting the remote eye to the Digi Box I prised out the Speaker grill and took out the climate control passed wire down from the Monitor to the centre consel but could not move the gear stick out the way switched on hit brake pedal and moved it any way long story short all back together and . . .

SRS air bag Urgent in now displayed

Gutted :censored::realmad::B_rant:

I know I did not not damage any thing I was so carefull and now totally gutted

any help and How do I reset it or is it volvo only

Chris_Rogers Dec 30th, 2011 18:23

This will happen if you remove the climate control unit without disconnecting the battery first. Just a code, no damage.

Just needs to be reset, beg for someone with a PPC code reader/VCT2000/dice near you to reset it for you.

Gazzza Dec 30th, 2011 18:30

Oh Chris thanks so much for that bit of info I have been shouting and screaming at my self all afternoon :loser:

So next question is My mate has the SNAP-ON ethos could that do it ?

Failing that any one in Leicester got one :notworthy:

Gazzza Dec 31st, 2011 14:36

Well I wanted to finish this off so here it is just got to Stick the aerial to the glass and jobs done I left out all the units as I want to fit them on a board and hide under the cargo bay to the right of the VOLVO tuner or I may hide in the left panel but here goes
First of I wanted some power and would you believe it the cargo Fuse box is permantly live ?

I wanted the items to be off when keys are out so not to drain the Battery :lightbulb:
Speaking of which if you have the display alarm service fault pop up on the DIM charge you car battery do the lock unlock 3 times and yep it goes off well theres another thing I found out so if the alarm service DIM comes up your car battery might be low and needs a charge:thumbs_up:
I only found this out as I was playing with the TV engine off and the DIM can say Low battery :lightbulb:
Right for power to the two units I decided to pick the power up from the rear 12v lighter socket as its dead when keys are out I used an old net curtain rod to fish under the carpet to the back cargo I have also fitted a 5amp fuse in line as well just to play safe and may go even smaller but with your engine running and power to the socket we have this . .

Enjoy all and if any one needs info help post or PM me Gazz's video on the conversion

Scart to RF output they say its 9v but works fine on 12v:thumbs_up:

Enjoy guys any help wanted let me know

right off to see about this airbag reset

NOTE :-

1. Make sure the Freeview box has the remote eye as some dont and there for NO GOOD

2. Make sure it has a POWER AERIAL if not NO GOOD

3 If you want to use your USB memory stick for Videos / music make sure it has usb port

4. if buying off ebay check sellers ratings and feed back avoid HONG KONG / CHINA due to import costs which is extra

5. Dont bother about the Kenwood or any other high price make of £200 plus its an anolog TV and the £60 ones will do the trick

Pandamedic Dec 31st, 2011 20:13

Thanks for that, will have to give this ago on my days off.

when you say power aerial, do you mean the one that comes with this kit? the amplified digital antenna
