Thanks. Yes, I always give the hub a good clean to make sure the disc sits flush.
I suspect I have a noisy wheel bearing too, but I’m going to let a garage diagnose/fit that because I haven’t got a press. I’d rather do the brakes myself.

I had my car jacked up earlier to see if I could find the noise. Its definitely the passenger side front wheel bearing. I held my hand on the spring whilst the front wheels were turning & I could feel excessive vibration. Also, as I accelerated more, it started making a howling/whining noise.
As I can’t do the bearing myself (no press), I’m bringing it to a garage. They’re also going to replace the existing brake discs with genuine Volvo ones (existing are warped/juddering when braking from high speed). The existing pads have loads of meat left on them, so they can be used on the new discs instead of buying a new set.
It made sense for them to do the brakes & wheel bearing at the same time, plus labour rates are reasonable.
