As far as I know the Elvington event is still a GO... There is still just over a month before the event so would be expecting an update fairly soon. Keep your Thunderbird on standby.

I was wondering why the arrival time was crossed out on my lanyard. Going to be an early start travelling up from the South West!

There must though surely be a "latest time to arrive" in order to get formed up and the attempt to take place??

gates open at 9 till 12 i think. you could pm stephen evans to get official conformation as he is one of the organisers ...

Gates open at 9.00am and close prompt at 12 noon. 12.01pm and you won't get in. Elvington is a much larger venue than Bruntingthorpe, so arrival is anytime to suit between the above times.

Make sure you all have a read through the ops manual that has been published on the Volvo 600 site. It shows you where you should be going on site, timings for the main events and the rules for making this a valid world record attempt.

And throw the rule book out the window! Following distance of LESS THAN two car lengths MUST be maintained throughout the convoy for it to be a valid attempt.

Ops manual here.

Interestingly, I haven't seen a C-19 risk assessment on their website. Is there a loophole that stops this from being classed as an outside gathering of more than 30 people?

See you all on Sunday.

I would imagine it to be safe enough as if they can have several thousand football fans in a stadium surely having Volvo owners mainly in their own cars would be allowed?
