I had my D4 2014 done a year ago and no problems at all, much nicer to drive too. Had it done at my home, they had to remove the ECU as it couldn't be done via the OBD2 Port but still only took an hour :)

It's running 230hp and 350lbft of torque, I love it and its within the tolerances of the gearbox etc.

Is yours an automatic?

It is yea sorry forgot to mention! your's being a manual should be fine as long as the clutch is in good nick, no slipping etc..

I did mine about 8 years ago.

Polestar was not an option for my D3, suspect it would take it too close to the new D4 at the time which was less than 20 PS more than my car.

I tried a tuning box, turned the accelerator into a binary switch.

Went the remap route without rolling road, gave me 195PS and 470Nm. There is a 215PS map available now for my D3, I don't feel the need for that on a 13 year old car. Tuning the D3 was an ECU out bench job.

I have manual S60 D3 from 2011 too. I quite like max torque low in the rev range (from 1500 rpm) on stock map. My only complain is that all fun ends after 3000 rpm. Did that change on yours after the remap? Do you have a power chart or something like that?

That can't change, that's a result of the small light pressure turbo. It has limits to how much air it can push. This doesn't bother me, an engine that can only rev to 3,500rpm is going to last a very long time.

Edit: The great thing about this engine and gearbox (manual) combination is the flexibility. 100-200 km/h achieved in 1,500rpm in 6th just as the turbo comes on boost. The remap I have is 470Nm torque which is sufficient to move the car at a reasonable rate. It's not the fastest car on the road, it does catch a few people out just how quickly it can move for something with a D3 badge.

Just get a BSR remap. They have been tuning Volvos for 30 years.

I have a new S60. Enjoying it but wondering about remapping.

It's a 2014 D4 manual.

Choices are

Do nothing...it's a fine car

Polestar.....done by Volvo so shouldn't stress anything else...but for a manual is it worth it as a lot say it's the gearbox it improves

Tuning Box....think I'm not doing this

Remap....but does this need a rolling road to be worth it? Are non rolling road remaps worth it?

Any experience with any of these most welcome.

Thanks
