Nope, totally different system. There are some 3rd party wireless carplay adapters that will give full screen.

Is Car Play working?
 
I got a xc60 with the latest Google software and when I try to use Car Play It initially pops up a message asking me to accept precise location setting and once done just displays a message asking me to connect via the USB cable.

The dealer says they have no knowledge of any issues claiming they use Car Play all the time and asking me to bring the car in for a technician to review.

Volvo UK say there is no issue with Car Play either, but are checking with their technical department to see if there are known issues.

With the latest Google software and iOS, does Car Play work when connected via a USB cable?

It only works with a cable! Are you trying to use it without??

I'm using an Apple supplied cable. The cable obviously works because the car detects when the phone is plugged in as it asks you to accept the data/location info. It is only then it asks for the cable to be plugged in (when it already is).

Played around with it some more. It was only when I'm trying to setup driver profiles and link to the Volvo cars app that I decided to logout of Google. At that point Apple Car play bursts into life and starts working. Why the message can't say please logout of google instead of saying to plug in a cable.

However now I have logged out of Google I can't see where to login again, and there is no Profiles option on the menu for me to add profiles and setup the app.

Not clear what I'm missing if I log out of Google.

So 1 step forward and 2 steps back....

It’s not going to tell you to log out of Google instead of plug in a cable because you can have both.

Have you tried doing a reboot??

As above, it should just work, no need to sign out of google.

and to sign back into google, go the app store in the car and it will ask for sign in details, they can both work together.

Having exactly the same issue, I'm logged into my volvo profile and google, but the carplay setup does exactly the same thing. Did you just log out of google to sort it or anything else at the same time ?
