2004 S80 D5 Engine issues at starting and at full trhottle
Hello everyone,
I am writing this post to seek advice on a couple of problems I am having with my 2004 S80 D5. When I start the engine, I always have to bleed the fuel system at least a couple of times by turning the key to position 2. If I didn't do this, the engine would struggle to start, making the starter motor run for a while, as if there was no fuel in the system. The second problem occurs when I accelerate hard, often the engine goes into recovery, cutting off engine power, after which accelerating very gradually would get me out of recovery mode. Reading the error codes from the OBD, they result in alarms of too high or too low fuel pressure, so I replaced the fuel filter, the fuel pump in the tank (which was broken), the fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel pressure sensor, but could not solve anything. The next attempt I would make, would be to put a check valve in the fuel line that goes from the filter to the engine, to solve the problem when starting, but I can't see how this could be related to the problem that occurs when accelerating, assuming the things are related. Do you have any advice for me? Thank you very much to everyone!. |
