Had an EV transit van today as a courtesy motor. It had a massive 😉 130 mile range…. 130 miles??? Is that it?? What a waste of time. Probably great for local round the houses deliveries but it takes the versatility away from it.

I'm striking a blow for the environment, today I unplugged a whole row of EV's that nobody was using.

Yeah - passive protection is no longer enough to get high scores.

The safety legislation is just a minimum standard.

There are vehicles which have trouble meeting the minimum standards, and there are others which easily far exceed the minimum standard.

I'm off to drive my 1960s Morris. It's got no NCAP rating, but that's fine.

Any car more than say 5-7 years old would likely fare badly if put through the current NCAP test. Even those that set the standard in their day, like some Volvo models.

Now I'm off to drive my 1970's Triumph which might be safer than your 1960's Morris as it has a seat belt reminder light.

The fact that "batteryhead" or "electricityhead" doesn't have the same ring to it that "petrolhead"does
Talking of NCAP ratings, pretty much everyone I talk to is agreed that driving standards are deteriorating quite badly. Are all these safety systems at least in part to blame in as much as people are more and more reliant on the car saving them/getting them out of trouble rather than avoiding trouble by driving better in the first place?

I'd suggest "Motorhead", only it's my understanding that it may already be in use elsewhere..
