You have not responded to the comments where people get far more than the recommended service life out of Volvo belts. You have not answered the comments that suggest there may have been some reason for the premature failure of the belt.
In short you have had some bad luck and are using that to try and convince the rest of us that you know better than the Volvo engineers who designed the engine. Your experiences do not correspond with most peoples, so it would pay you to find out why this is.
PLEASE READ THE WHOLE STORY !
its not worth using a volvo belt for banger racing !
i know its going to break

Bloomin 'eck, can you leave the guy alone?

Its pretty obvious that nobody seems to understand why this guy has asked this question which is a very valid and sensible question to ask. If you are not familiar with banger racing then you wont grasp the reasoning behind it. Its not about belts failing in use due to wear or incorrect fitment, but failing by being struck by a foreign object (i.e the slam panel) The cars wont be driving another 50,000 miles on the ford belt, just a few more laps round the banger track before the end of the meeting and the destruction derby.

I thought this was a friendly forum, wheres all this rudeness come from?

chow maybe??

Mind you, alot of volvo owners will hate the idea of Volvos being driven to destruction. Prefering that DD drivers use something more unworthy (read any fords... LOL)..

He will do what he will do... Just hope he doesn't kill himself or others in the process..

Des. . .

your more likely to get killed on the road than in a banger(allthough there have been a couple of incident in the past 18 months)
our cars are built to strict giudelines as to the orc spec & always prept to driver safety, no one aims to hert anyone as we all have to work the next day !

just remember who volvo's parent company is though !!!

granada's or bluebirds nearly always out last volvo's in a in a dd !!! (if they aint been 2.8ed(ford that is !!!)
