I assume this was being posted as a question not a poll. The later transmission (box and prop) will fit from later cars (you'll need the flywheel as well) and you may find the flange on rear axle is different size requiring a changeso it'll all bolt up.

The number of spines on the gearbox input shaft changed at some point, so may need a new clutch to match.
Also early gearboxes had a take-off point for a cable-driven speedometer. Later (all?) M47s didn't because there is an electric pick-up point in the rear axle instead. I have read you need to take care if removing/swapping the flange on the rear axle. Is this the kind with a collapsible spacer that cannot be re-used? Or it good enough simply to observe the original torque and position and re-tighten to the same point? |

I would go for an o/d box myself. I think the gear cahange is better and its nice being able to just switch up a gear.

does your 75 have a OHV B20, is so the bellhousing for the later box's is different as the OHC redblocks sit at an angle while the OHV redblocks sit straight up. though i think the early bellhousing can possibly mate to the later boxs but i'm not sure.
