Default Google Maps Settings

Hi All, Just got my XC60 T8 yesterday. Strugling with settings on the navigation. Can you change the voice? Can you get Hazard/Speed Camera warnings? It is totally diferent to the google maps on PC or iPad. I would also be interetsed if anyone knows if somebody is monitoring fuel consumption (MPG and KWh/M). Also, Does Waze work with drivers central display and HUD So far loving it!

It doesn't give audible warnings as far as I can tell, you just get the speed camera signs in the HUD as you are approaching them.

Somebody? Who would you expect to be monitoring your fuel consumption

I don't use Waze as it is not as integrated with the cars systems (controlling PHEV deployment based on topology data) as Google.

I personally cannot see the point of Waze as it is now owned by Google and is based on Google maps. I do have it installed however. It does not display on the drivers display which contiinues to display Google maps whilst Waze is on the centre display. If you set a destination in both they both run but of course they tend to talk over each other!
I believe you can change the gender and natiionality of the voice in Google maps but I am very happy with the English lady.

I was actually wondering if anyone had worked out how to measure MPG bearing in mind the electric element. Also, If somebody has set up a group project, it would give everyone a much better weighted average. The government figures are absolutely worthless!

It's a difficult one as it is very much going to be specific to you and whether you charge it, what your costs are for that energy and fuel and how you want to reconcile energy use versus the cost of fuel.

I just use a spreadsheet where I record how much electric and fuel I put in over a tank and covert the electric cost to a petrol equiv and knock out an mpg figure based on that.

Puts me at about mid 50s mpg on average but the car has been going gang busters of late and it's gotta be in triple digits, mostly helped by the fact I'm on a lower tariff now dropping from 26.4p to 7.5p a unit but the car seems to have gotten generally more economical on both electric and petrol, probably because road closures this year have us doing more miles and seemingly more efficient miles.

Only one tank of fuel this year and 8 in 13k miles.

I don't get the speed cameras in the HUD since I got the car 6 weeks ago. Trip to the dealer?
Does everyone get the speed camera icons in the driver display and HUD?
I get school alert on display but nothing else

I have the same issue with my MY 23 V60CC. The speedcam warning was visible in the HUD but disappeared after update to 3.0.3. No idea how get it displayed. I've tried TCAM reset and infotainment reset a few times and no luck. If I recall right there was earlier a tickbox in google maps settings for this but it's not there in 3.0.3??

It seems as though Google Maps has, on occasion, lost the ability to provide the Volvo with road speed limit data as the car resorts to 'offline' mode regularly since the last update and although reads signs pretty well it isn't sufficient on some b roads and country lanes. Hopefully Google will be implementing an update soon, which they usually don't announce in the AAOS centre screen.

Yup the move to Android Auto OS 12 with 3.0.3 has made the infotainment a bit ropey for us in general, black screens, lag, speed signs quite wrong, which is a shame as up until this point we've been very happy with AAOS in our XC60 as it just worked and had good performance.
