S40 lighter Socket

Hi, is anyone breaking a late Series1 S/V40? I need a 12V socket as mine didn't come with one fitted from new. It seems they are no longer available from Volvo

It is the type that fits in the front of the gear lever surround. It's a pain not being able to charge my phone anymore!

Thanks Waynearees I may have to go down that route. I'd rather a genuine one as it's a drop in fit etc, but if no-one has one soon I'll get a universal one 👍

I remember my friend told me that he found it strange that his 2003 S40 1.6 didn't come with a 12v power socket/lighter. I told him it should have, located just to the top left of the gear stick surround. When I unclipped the g/lever surround trim, I found that it did in fact have a power socket - the previous owner had replaced the surround with a wooden one from an earlier ph2. You may indeed have a power socket already there under the trim! :-)
