Sounds a good car if it has full history. Unless you have to drive into a major city regularly I wouldn't be put off buying a diesel and they are still softer on the planet than equivalent petrol models.
Do check the gearbox though - get it hot and then shift from P to D and R and back again - check for banging or shuddering in the car. Also slow down gently from 50 mph and check for the same.
Go for a "Lux" model it has the best instruments and headlights.
