Hi all,

With a house move imminent and the consequential loss of garage space I’ve have decided to sell my 1966 Volvo 131 (2-door Amazon), which I have owned sine 2020. I believe this to be the lowest mileage and most period correct Amazon in the country.

The car is a genuine survivor car with only 17,105 miles on the clock and with only two previous registered owners. The car is a 4 speed-manual without overdrive, with the original red vinyl interior and original rubber floor mats all-round, both of which are in near perfect condition.

The car is mostly still in its original Pearl/Off White paint (the exceptions being the re-painted roof and slam panel and a replacement OSF wing) and still in its original under-seal. The engine is also wearing its original paint. The car is rust-free and has never been welded or restored and also comes with the many original features such as air filter and spark plugs leads, original radio blanking plate etc.

The car has new rear drums, upgraded Webber 34ICH carb (the original Zenith 36VN comes with the car). The car has a period radio/cassette with a jack plug to connect to MP3/ Phone.

I have made contact with the previous owner’s relatives and friends, which support the mileage. A quick inspection of the interior, bodywork and engine bay will also support the mileage.

The car has been entered in the forthcoming Historics Auction on the 11th May 2024 at the Farnborough International Exhibition Centre (GU14 6TQ) with a low reserve (https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/a...131-amazon-dg/)

Grab this opportunity to buy the UK’s lowest mileage Amazon and near original condition at a bargain price.

Hi Morewenna240,
I think it takes a rather unusual set of circumstances for a 58 year old cart to end up with only 17,000 miles on the clock.

My car was purchased in 1966 by a sea captain out of Hull in the UK. Right after buying the car the owner got a shore based job that came with a company car. He passed his new Volvo onto his wife who was not a keen driver and only used the car for a weekly shopping trip. In 1982 the car passed to the son of the original owner who used the car sparingly and started to show the car at local classic car meets in Yorkshire (Photo 2). By the mid 1990's when the car finally left the family it had only 14,700 miles on the clock.

The Historics Auction is this Saturday 11th May - https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/a...131-amazon-dg/
